“A-Ling” is a 19 year old BA Marketing and Communications student and has just finished an intense summer as an intern at Jinlintai entertainment company.
Though he enjoyed his internship it was not entirely useful, in part being arranged by the previous CEO (his late grandfather).
As one can imagine It mainly consisted of parties, shopping, and trying to locate whatever Rolex/car/woman his Grandfather had left somewhere the night before. Fun yes, but the youngest Jin actually has more substance than most expect.
Despite being written off as ‘bratty’ or ‘spoiled’ he has spent the past two years at university working to the best of his abilities.
Being the heir to such an established company, and with the rest of his family in various positions Of note within its framework, he certainly feels the pressure to make something of himself.

Because both his parents travelled a lot for work he spent a lot of time alone, or with the household staff (or with his “jiujiu”)
Though he loves both his parents, and knows they love him too, he still struggles with certain physical displays of affection. At times he seems to revert into quite a childish state when dealing with difficult situations.
After spending a large portion of his formative years living with his uncle it is clear he has taken on a few of the older man’s less than ideal characteristics. Like his jiujiu he is often short tempered and easily embarrassed by over the top displays of affection.
With his father stepping up as CEO and his mother signing new contracts with an ‘in house’ agency he has been be able to spend time with them both and he is much happier.
Having spent so much time without them both he is more grateful for their presence now, particularly his mother (she gives the best hugs ok!)

His best friends are Lan Jingyi and Lan Sizhui, though at times he feels like a third wheel. This is further complicated due to feelings he has kept hidden.
At the present time he lives in an apartment close to his university, but still walking distance to his parents.
Recently he found out that his parents decided to grant him his long time wish. He is due to have a sibling in 2020! (Excited is an understatement)

⚜️ He has a husky called ‘Fairy’. His uncle Jiang Cheng inspired her name choice, a fact that his other uncle, Wei Wuxian, seems to find hilarious.
⚜️ Sexuality? He truly has no idea, to date he has had girlfriends but has experienced “complicated” feelings for two of his male friends.
⚜️ He auditioned for ‘The Rich Kids Of Instagram’ but was sent home in the final round after he blew up at one of the other contestants. Not one to be thwarted he has set up his own lifestyle Instagram to show off his unique world #staygoldgram. A YouTube channel and merchandise is in the works so stay tuned!
⚜️ Despite both him and his father being referred to as ‘peacocks’ the pair seem to view this as a compliment. Recently they were seen wearing matching Gucci sneakers, customised with crystal peacock feathers - much to his Extended family, and the general publics horror.
⚜️ He wore a solid gold tie to his high school graduation (from late his Grandfather of course)
⚜️ Despite only passing his driving test last year he has already recieved countless speeding tickets. All cars registered in his name have been clamped at the family estate’s garage until he has finished his community service (as the 3 times he went to ‘speed school’ inevitably didn’t help).
⚜️ Jin Ling is surprisingly protective and non judgmental where it counts. (He once punched a boy for making degrading comments about his uncles choice of career.......
...He then punched a second boy for making comments about his smallest uncle and his background (you see a theme?)
⚜️ He enjoys most sports but particularly Archery.
⚜️ He says Jingyi is the most photogenic person he knows (and thinks it’s always a surprise how someone so beautiful can be so dumb)

Jin Jixuan
Father “Peacock”.
The “Baby Peacock’s” relationship with his father has improved a lot in recent months (in part due to the older Jin taking up his position as the new head of the family entertainment business)
No longer expected to spend months travelling back and forth as head of western expansion Zixuan is able to spend time with his wife and son.
Jin Ling adores his father but because they are so alike he often struggles to express his feelings. As his father was absent for a lot of his childhood he has difficulty viewing him in such a role. Now he is a young adult it often feels like they are friends instead of a more traditional father and son relationship.
He is so happy to have this type of bond with his father and for him to see him not only as his son, but as an individual too.
(That said they both can get a little out of hand sometimes... that’s where Yanli steps in!)

Jin Yanli (Jiang)
Mother “An Angel”
A self acknowledged momma’s boy Jin Ling has always had a wonderful relationship with Yanli.
Once he started school she was often sent away to various different places on modelling shoots. Though far away she bridged the gap in any way possible (and always brought him back presents from the unique places she had travelled to!)
No matter the distance he always felt her love and warmth. Her letters and phone calls showed him that he mattered and that he was not forgotten.
Now 19 Jin Ling still makes the effort to visit (at least) once a week for that piece of comfort. Eating his mother’s Lotus and pork rib soup, listening to her singing whilst she cooks. In Yanli’s company he allows himself to relax - something he struggles to do as he so often feels the need to portray a certain image.
In short, he adores his ‘mama’.

Jiang Cheng
Uncle “jiujiu”
Because his parents were often away working (as stated before) Jin Ling prefered to spend time at his Uncle’s home.
(Whilst in high school he was there so often that he had a bedroom both there and at his family home)
As a result the relationship he has with his jiujiu is very close and probably the most like a typical father/son type dynamic. At University if he struggles the person he least wants to let down is his uncle (the consistent threats to ‘break his legs’ In high school clearly worked!)
Unfortunately he also seems to have picked up a lot of his jiujiu’s less desirable mannerisms but they make it work somehow.
He loves his uncle and wants him to be happy (and also maybe to do less paperwork!)

Wei Wuxian
Uncle “The Glitter Demon”
Likes his Uncle a lot more than he lets on and will actively avoid bringing fairy if he knows the other will be there since he has a severe dog phobia. He asked his mother once about the origin of his fear and whatever he was told evidentally invoked a more protective impulse.
He doesn’t particularly like that his Uncle is an ‘Exotic dancer’ but that didn’t stop him punching a boy in the face when he made derogatory comments about his career choice. In other words, So long as he doesn’t have to watch he doesn’t really care what someone does.
Despite finding Lan Wangji rather stern and silent he is happy that his uncle has found someone who appears to understand him (and isn’t put off by the glitter, the snakes and the furbies)
If anyone deserves love it is him. Simply put “He’s alright, I guess...”

Meng Yao
Uncle “Smallest Uncle”
He loves his smallest uncle! Not only does he bring him back the best gifts whenever he is travelling, he also gets sent invites and VIP passes to the best events. An expert at negotiation and talking his way in to (or out of) anything, Jin Ling hopes to emulate him more as he enters the world of business.
Not only that his Uncle also has a great sense of style. Though he can be strict at times (he refused to let Jin Ling buy Gold studded Louboutin’s on a recent shopping trip) he is usually on the money.

Mo Xuanyu
Uncle They/Them “Xuanyu”
Through the limited time he has spent with them all he can say so far is that they “seem to be rather quiet”.
His father seems determined to bring them further into the family (especially since his grandfather/their father passed earlier this year) so he has no doubt they will get to know each other better, if and when that happens.
They seem particularly close to his jiujiu’s boyfriend Huaisang and ‘glitter demon’ uncle so he assumes they can’t be so bad.

Nie Huaisang
“Jiujiu’s Boyfriend”
Always spilling “The Tea”, though he can’t say he minds him, (although he can get a little jealous with the amount of time he spends with his jiujiu!)
Having grown used to his uncle focusing on his work he is not used to him taking time for himself or his relationships. Less openly he can admit that he is happy for them both, he even manages to endure the demonic cat ‘Lady Grey’ that Nie Huiasang owns so he can spend time with his uncle them both.

Lan Jingyi
‘Twin idiots’, one of his best friends.
They have a close relationship but can at times switch from playful teasing to outright brawling. His favourite drinking partner.
He sometimes gets jealous with the amount of time he spends with Sizhui.

Lan Sizhui
Best Friend “A-Yuan”
Completely different in temperament to him but possibly the best person he has ever met.
Handsome, intelligent.. (Ok so he has a SLIGHT crush on Sizhui ever since they were made to kiss during a game of dares)
Sadly he seems more interested in Jingyi so he tries to keep his feelings under wraps.
They spend about the same amount of time together as him and Jingyi (much to his displeasure)

A Qing
Someone he is newly acquainted with, she is around his age and “super cute”. Sadly her guardians.. or dads? Seem a little intense, or at least one of them does.. the man carries a flip knife!??
She has a lot of uncapped potential. Definitely instagram worthy.
